I do great with podcasts and also fully dramatized books with multiple VAs. But books don't always translate great to being read, esp ones that rely on *** marks to show new scene or different POV character. Why don't audiobooks have like a click or something to mark those? Also, what is said out loud and what is the character thinking things once they've stopped talking. I get lost in a lot of them.
Every time I buy something based on the VA I have regrets...
Yeah, it's tricky to balance the plusses and minuses. It does have a lot going for it like a magic system that is elemental so it's easy to understand, but it also feels unique and not like it's copying a popular show. But it's hard to recc because someone coming in might be put off by the flaws.
