Beacon Hills is a famous part of Boston, and Teen Wolf is California. I don't think that is a connection. This series is very rooted in Boston history, culture and geography.

I haven't watched TVD, couldn't get into it, so it's possible the author is riffing on that in ways I am not picking up on. I'm really not sure how much of that tracks.
