I could have dealt better with Less just drifting through his privileged life if the descriptions weren't... horrible. The book goes on and one about how there is a hotel called The New Yorker in NYC? And how that's not a joke, and also in New England some inns are also named for the locations there are in.
Like, the descriptions are shit but, what are they even describing? How is that so noteworthy it takes up more than a page and is being treated as some insightful description of New York?
I could give other examples of the descriptions making me go 'what the fuck are you on about?' but that one just really boggles me
