Latourell Falls by Dawn Hewitt on 500px.com

I sort of hiked three days in a row. On Wednesday I walked down to Mt. Tabor, went partway up, around and back home. Just a few miles and about 500ft elevation change. I'd planned to rest Thursday and then hike on Green Friday. But early on Thursday I saw the news that parts of the Columbia River Gorge has been re-opened. The Eagle Creek Fire is still going, but it's deeper into the woods. Being back on historic route 30 and back in the closer parts of The Gorge was great. The above picture is Latourelle Falls. I walked there was far as I could - the trail is only partially open - and also Bridal Veil.

That shot is my first try at a handheld long exposure shot. It turned out pretty, but I am going to try a shorter LE shot next time. I like some water smoothing, but that smooth is not to my taste. That smooth and smoother is super popular, but I like a lighter touch with that effect.

Then today I went to my nearest state park for Green Friday. They had free admission, coffee, tea and snacks. It was cute. I hadn't been to Tyron State Park before. The promotion was certainly popular, parking was a mess. I wedged myself into a tiny parallel spot on a tight curve to the left.

I want to do some shooting out East this weekend before it gets too snowy. I may go Sunday, but tomorrow I am going to try to not hike things. I did squats on Wednesday that I came to regret with how busy my week got.

I've also gotten good work on my articles done, even if my fiction writing is still lagging behind. Yeah ... Nano plans ...erm... I have also been doing website stuff, social media stuff and trying to learn video skills. I really, really need to archive my important shots and the raw files for them.
